Hastings Highlands Hires a Municipal Planner

Maynooth, ON – As the third largest growing Municipality in the County behind the City of Belleville and the City of Quinte West, Hastings Highlands is preparing for the future by hiring John Jardine as the new Municipal Planner for the Municipality.
John was born and raised in London, Ontario and is interested in working for a rural Municipality to help create opportunities and plan for future growth and development.
“Having a professional planner on staff will enhance the service the Municipality delivers to stakeholders and promote assessment growth which is a goal identified in Council’s strategic plan,” said Mayor Vic Bodnar.
John will begin his employment with the Municipality on October 5th and will be responsible for all planning and development applications, short term planning and all other matters related to the comprehensive and orderly land use development of the Municipality. John will also assist in the implementation of long range planning policies of the Municipality associated with upper tier government legislation.
He is a Master of Planning graduate from Dalhousie University and has experience working for The Rural Nova Scotian Municipality of Windsor and West Hants.
John and his family are not new to Hastings Highlands as they have frequented the area in past summers and are looking forward to calling it their home.
