Hastings Highlands Moves into Covid-19 Modified Version of Step 2 Roadmap to Reopen

Maynooth, ON – The Municipality of Hastings Highlands wishes to release the following information in response to the Government of Ontario’s recent announcement moving the province into a Modified Step 2 of the Road Map to Reopen effective January 5, 2022 at 12:01 a.m. The modified protocols are in place until at least January 26, 2022, subject to trends in public health and health system indicators.

Hastings Highlands Covid-19 Planning

Effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. Hastings Highlands will follow the lead of the Provincial Governments transition to the Modified Version of Step 2 Under the Re-opening Road Map Protocols.

Municipal Office (33011 Hwy 62 Maynooth, ON)

During the Modified Version of Step 2 the Municipal Office will be closed to the public. During this time staff will not be scheduling in-person appointments.

Municipal staff will continue to be available during regular business hours by calling the Municipal Office at (613) 338-2811. We continue to encourage stakeholders to use the online resources available on the municipal website at www.hastingshighlands.ca.

Indoor and Outdoor Facilities and Recreation Spaces

Under the Modified Version of Step 2 all Indoor Facilities, Community Centres, Halls and Rinks Shacks will be closed to the public.

Outdoor recreational spaces including outdoor rinks will continue to remain open subject to the following Covid-19 measures:

  • Physical Distancing (2 metres)
  • Wear Masks or Face Coverings
  • Provincial Gathering Limits
  • Conduct a Covid-19 Self Assessment before attending an outdoor recreational space

Municipal Waste Sites

All Waste Sites will remain open in accordance with their normal operating schedule.

Customers are encouraged to adhere to public health guidelines which include physical distancing and wearing a mask or face covering while attending municipal waste sites.

Council and Committee Meetings

The Municipality of Hastings Highlands’ scheduled Council and Committee meetings will be held by electronic participation and live streamed on YouTube until further notice.

Conclusion

The Municipality of Hastings Highlands remains diligent in their fight against Covid-19. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when we are able to do so.
