Hastings Highlands Moves into Covid-19 Modified Version of Next Step of the Road Map to Re-open
Maynooth, ON – The Municipality of Hastings Highlands wishes to release the following information in response to the Government of Ontario’s announcement moving the province into the Next Step of the Road Map to Re-open effective Match 1st, 2022. The modified protocols are in place until further notice, subject to trends in public health and health system indicators.
Hastings Highlands Covid-19 Planning
Effective Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. Hastings Highlands will follow the lead of the Provincial Government’s transition to the Next Step Under the Re-opening Road Map Protocols.
Municipal Office (33011 Hwy 62 Maynooth, ON)
The Municipal Office will be open to the public. The Municipal Office will be open during regular business hours to make payments or to drop-off or pick-up a permit. We are closed for lunch daily from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. To speak with a municipal staff member, please call or email to schedule an appointment.

Clerk’s Department
Commissioner for taking Affidavits can be completed by booking an appointment in advance. Please call or email to schedule an appointment.
Council and Committee Meetings
All meetings have returned to Council Chambers for Members of Council and Committee. Meetings are live-streamed and recorded on the municipality’s YouTube channel for the public.
Municipal Waste Sites
All Waste Sites will remain open in accordance with their normal operating schedule.
Customers are encouraged to adhere to public health guidelines which include physical distancing and wearing a mask or face covering while attending municipal waste sites.
Indoor and Outdoor Facilities and Recreation Spaces
Under the Next Step to the Re-opening Road Map Protocols, the Municipal Centre gymnasium (Emond Hall), the Lake St. Peter Community Hall and Herschel Community Hall will be open in accordance with public health guidelines.
Outdoor recreational spaces including outdoor rinks will continue to be open subject to the following Covid-19 measures:
- Physical Distancing (2 metres)
- Wear Masks or Face Coverings
- Conduct a Covid-19 Self Assessment before attending an outdoor recreational space

Staff Practices and Controls
Staff practices and controls will remain the same re: Covid screening survey, temperature checks, masking, and social distancing until further notice.
