**Mink Lake Road now passable after massive washout- June 24-2024**
A sizeable washout made Mink Lake Road impassable near civic address 1397 today. Crews have been on site to repair the road and we are happy to report, it is now passable.
Thank you to all staff and subcontractors that worked so quickly to reopen the road. Staff will be out in full force to address all damage caused by this most recent weather, we thank everyone for their continued patience while we work to grade and patch our road system.
2024 Little Papineau Creek Bridge Rehabilitation
Trilith Contracting Inc has been selected to carry out the Little Papineau Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project by the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. The bridge is located on Hwy 62, 770m north of Boulter Road.
The scope of work for this project will include the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge deck and as well as structural repairs and reinforcement to the underside of the bridge. Construction will impact traffic flow, and a single traffic lane will be established on Highway 62. In an effort to minimize disruption and facilitate access as much as possible, the work will be completed in two stages.
We kindly request that you plan ahead and consider alternative routes during this period to help us complete the work as efficiently as possible.

Throughout the construction, we will strive to minimize disruptions. However, some inconvenience is inevitable with such work, and we ask for your patience and cooperation with our traffic control personnel and work crews. Emergency access to all roads, businesses, and homes will be maintained at all times.

South Baptiste Lake Road - 2024 Capital Project
About this Project
Hastings Highlands Council and Staff are pleased to inform you about the Capital Road Project on South Baptiste Lake Road, extending from “Y” Road to Clarke Road. This project will involve a series of improvements including roadside brushing, culvert replacement, pulverizing of the existing road surface, and resurfacing.

Impact on Traffic and Travel:
Brushing and Removals: Starting April 1, trees along the corridor will be brushed and certain trees will be selectively removed as required.
Culvert Replacements: Starting April 15th Culverts along South Baptiste Lake Road in the project areas will be replaced.
Pulverizing: Pulverizing is scheduled to begin June 3rd and be completed by June 14. Dust and noise should be expected during this phase of construction.
Resurfacing/Paving: Paving is scheduled to begin June 24th, at 6:00am and run daily until 8:00pm until completed.
