National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women
National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women – December 6th is
recognized across Canada as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on
Violence Against Women, in memory of the 14 women murdered at Polytechnique
Montréal on December 6, 1989, in a horrific act of gender-based violence.
The flags at the Municipal Office will be lowered to half-mast to honour the victims of
this tragedy on December 6 and all victims of violence.
