Hastings Highlands Appoints New Fire Chief
Maynooth, ON – As part of the municipality’s succession planning, Council is pleased to announce that they have appointed Jason Post as the new Fire Chief for the municipality.
Jason is not new to the municipality; he has been employed with Hastings Highlands since September of 2019 as the Deputy Fire Chief. Jason has over 20 years of public safety experience in planning, organizing and administration of Fire Department operations. He was the Fire Chief for Limerick Township for 18 years before joining Hastings Highlands.
“Council is excited to welcome Jason to his new role as Fire Chief. His years of experience in the fire service will prove to be valuable for our team,” said Mayor Vic Bodnar.
Jason will begin his new position as Fire Chief with the municipality beginning June 28, 2020. He will be responsible for the administration and coordination of all Fire Department activities through the supervision of subordinate officers, and firefighters. The Fire Chief plans, organizes and directs departmental operations with respect to equipment, apparatus, inspections and personnel.
Jason is a CMM III, CRS I, along with several NFPA accreditations.
