March 18, 2020

Maynooth, ON – The Municipality of Hastings Highlands continues to monitor the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as issued by the World Health Organization (WHO).
In Hastings Highlands, we are working with provincial guidelines and public health to put into effect community-based measures that will protect the general population in Hastings Highlands and do our part to slow the spread of this virus.
Hastings Highlands wishes to release the following information to the community:
As part of the collective effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, municipal staff who are able to work from home have been directed to do so. This is part of an overall public health strategy to help safeguard the health of others, particularly the most vulnerable in our communities, by reducing the number of our employees in the workplace where possible while still maintaining operations. With many of our staff working from home, we can help keep those who do not have the ability to work from home safe.
Exercising protective measures like proper hand washing and practising social distancing will help defend against illness – as well as reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Information regarding municipal programs and services, as well as provincial health messages will be shared via the municipality’s social media and website.
The health and well-being of the community is our priority and we will continue to update the community when we are able to do so.
We encourage all members of the community to keep updated by visiting the websites designated to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
