The Shore Road Allowance is typically 66′ in width and located between your property and the water.

Property owners will need to contact a lawyer to complete a search of title or an Ontario Land Surveyor to confirm whether or not they own the Shore Road Allowance.

How can I apply to purchase the Shore Road Allowance?

Once you have determined that you do not own the Shore Road Allowance, you can apply to purchase the Shore Road Allowance.

Please complete the Shore Road Allowance Application and

  • Prepare a sketch of the property extending the side property lines to the lake
  • Complete Attachment ‘B’ Consent of Abutting Owners and Lot Line Extension Authorization and have your neighbours on both sides of your property sign Attachment ‘B’; and
  • Have both neighbours sign the sketch of the property to acknowledge their agreement with the sketch
